Our Roofing Process: Frequently Asked Questions

When you're investing in a new roof, you deserve to know exactly what to expect: who's showing up, what they're installing, and how the warranties work. At Roofing PD, our roofing process is the same on every job. No guesswork, no subcontractors, no surprises. Here are some common questions Michigan homeowners ask us most about our roofing process.

Do you subcontract, or do you use your own crews?

Roofing PD uses its own dedicated installation crews, the same crews that have been with us since the start of the business. We don't subcontract. Every team that arrives at your home is vetted, experienced, and part of our company. That consistency is a core part of our Michigan roofing process: you get the same standard of workmanship on every job, regardless of when you schedule or what time of year it is.

Our siding work is handled by two dedicated, highly vetted siding crews. Siding installation requires precision and attention to detail, and these crews have built a strong track record through years of hands-on experience. When Roofing PD sends a team to your home, you know exactly what you're getting.

What is your sales process?

No pressure. That's the short answer. Our Michigan roofing process starts with accurate, transparent information, not steering you toward a decision. We follow the same approach on every estimate: inspect the property, document what we find, and give you a clear quote with no inflated line items or unnecessary add-ons.

One thing that sets our process apart: because our installation is completely standardized, there's no gap between what sales promises and what installation delivers. Every roof is installed the same way, to the same high standard, on every job. You're not guessing what you'll get based on who's on the crew that day. The highest standard of installation is the only one we operate at, and it exceeds code.

  • No-pressure estimates: Transparent, accurate quotes with clear pricing. No sales tactics.

  • Standardized installation: Every roof is installed exactly the same way, every time.

  • Exceeds code: Our installation standard goes beyond Michigan building requirements, not just meets them.

How do you conduct inspections?

Inspection is a built-in part of our Michigan roofing process, and every one includes a full walkaround of the property, a complete roof evaluation, and an attic inspection. We don't skip the attic: that's where some of the most important conditions are found. Ventilation balance, decking condition, and signs of moisture or mold tell us the full story of your roofing system, not just what's visible from the outside.

Every inspection is free. We'll tell you exactly what we find and give you an honest recommendation: a repair, a full replacement, or confirmation that your roof is in good shape. Learn more about our roof inspection process!

How do you demonstrate quality?

Our quality shows up in the details, the things most homeowners never see but that make a real difference in how your roof performs for decades. Here's what's standard on every Roofing PD installation:

  • Quality materials with full warranty coverage: We install high quality products backed by our manufacturing partners.

  • 6 nails per shingle: The industry standard is often 4. We use 6, a straightforward difference that improves long-term performance.

  • Ice and water shield: Applied at the gutter line and run up and behind the siding, protecting one of the most vulnerable areas on any Michigan roof from water infiltration.

  • Starter strip shingles: Installed on the bottom edge and sides of the roof, a requirement for GAF's highest warranty tier and a hallmark of a properly installed roofing system.

  • Consistent, standardized installation: Our roofing process doesn't change based on crew, season, or job size. Every roof gets the same high standard. No exceptions.

What warranty do you offer?

Roofing PD holds GAF Master Elite Certification, a distinction held by fewer than 2% of roofing contractors in North America. That status allows us to offer GAF's highest-tier warranty coverage: up to a 50-year warranty on materials, paired with workmanship coverage that backs our installation.

Every roof we install is registered with GAF or Owens Corning, both of our manufacturing partners. That registration is a standard step in our roofing process. See warranty details.

How do you handle warranty callbacks?

We go out right away. If something goes wrong with a roof we installed, whether it's a materials issue or a workmanship concern, we handle it. No charge for labor or materials on covered warranty work.

As a GAF Master Elite contractor, Roofing PD's standing with our manufacturer depends on how we handle warranty issues. Contractors who don't resolve callbacks lose their certification programs. Warranty callbacks are handled with the same care as every other part of our Michigan roofing process, and that's exactly what we do. Learn more about our warranty roof repairs.
